What did I just read? Seriously, it was like a long monolog of "Well, this one thing happened. And then this happened. And then, oh wait, I forgot to tell you about the time this other thing happened". There was no real story here. It stops with no real conclusion. Also, there is a secondary story woven into the book that I think is supposed to be the story of the author's maternal heritage. Its so poorly written that I can't really tell what's happening or to which character. Its a confusing book.I gave 2 stars only because, with a good editor and more information, this tale could be reworked into a much better narrative.
